We offer treatment options for a number of conditions. Everyone is different and we tailor our treatments so that they will work for you. If yours is not listed please contact us- if we aren't able to help we can refer you to someone who can!
Acne & Rosacea
We at JP Skin understand how acne and rosacea can have a profound effect on sufferers. It can be completely debilitating, stopping you from leaving the house or socialising, and it is also often poorly treated and can be trivialised by health professionals.
JP Skin use dermatologist founded NeoStrata Skin peels and cosmeceuticals to stimulate fresh healthy skin, allowing for accelerated cell turnover and the stimulation of collagen-producing cells, leaving smooth glowing skin.
Appointments and consultations include an analysis of your skin, your concerns, and main treatment targets. We will then recommend a product regime to best support successful outcomes.
Everyone’s skin is different, and so we treat everyone individually, this means you will receive a treatment plan that is completely tailored to your needs. We offer both a rosacea and acne personalised programmes using the most current treatment available.

Signs of Ageing
What Happens to our Skin as we Age?
As we get older our skin goes through a number of changes, these result in a number of visible signs of ageing, for example:
A reduction of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) levels, causing dryness, reduced volume, uneven tone, deepening of lines and wrinkles.
Thinning of the skin, leading to uneven skin tone and more visible capillaries.
Decreased blood supply, so less nutrients are getting to the cells, with pigmentation changes and age spots.
Loss of Collagen & Elastin, which causes a loss of volume, dryness, uneven skin tone, slackening of the skin, folds and wrinkles.
Finally laxity of facial muscles, resulting in sagging, slackening of the skin, deep wrinkles and folds.
What Causes Skin Ageing?
There are generally 3 main factors that cause skin ageing:
Environmental: Sunlight, Ambient UV light and Gravity
Habitual: Exposure to artificial UV Light, Smoking, Alcohol and Diet
Genetic: Naturally lower hyaluronic acid (HA) levels, more rapidly declining HA levels, naturally lower collagen and fat level, more rapidly declining collagen and fat levels, and weaker facial muscles.

Scarring & Stretch Marks
Facial scarring can have a big impact on the way we look at ourselves in the mirror. It can be very hard to hide with makeup, and unlike some conditions cannot be treated with medication. So where do you go? That’s where we come in. We use the most advanced evidence based Microneedling technique, proven to reduce the appearance of scarring. It works by creating minute wounds that the body responds by sending new cells to repair the area- this results in the healing of scar tissue and reduced visibility of the scar itself.
Stretch marks are caused when the skin is stretched too quickly, and there are a number of things can cause this;
Pregnancy, puberty, and rapid weight gain.
Oils and moisturisers are commonly advertised to help reduce them- but these can only affect the top layer of the skin (the epidermis), and this cannot cause any physical change in the skin. By using Microneedling, we are able to cause physical change to the inner layer of the skin (dermis), triggering a healing response from the body. This proven treatment reduces the visibility of stretch marks using the bodies own healing response over a number of treatments.

JP Skin use Bocouture® for all muscle relaxing treatments.
Bocouture® is a medicine that contains the active substance Botulinum toxin type A which relaxes the injected muscles.
Bocouture® is part of the botulinum toxin family. This product is even purer than Botox® and can therefore be better tolerated by people with allergies. Botulinum has been known to the medical world for a long time. It is a natural protein. Originally, it was a toxin, but in a highly diluted form, it has been used for medicinal purposes since the nineteen sixties.
Botulinum toxin type A is very safe, without long-term side effects. Some wrinkles in your face are caused by repeated muscular movements, such as frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. These wrinkles and lines can be treated using Bocouture®. They weaken the activity of the muscular groups causing the wrinkles so that they soften or fade.
Bocouture® is also used for treating gummy smiles and nasal folds from laughing. The effect in the face lasts initially three to four months. Where the treatment is repeated, the effect may last longer, up to six or seven months.
Bocouture® is also used to effectively treat excessive perspiration in your armpits or hands. The effect of a Bocouture® treatment lasts between six and twelve months.
Other ways in which Bocouture® is used are medically indicated, such as reducing tension headaches, migraines or teeth grinding.
The botox treatment is among the most-frequently carried out cosmetic treatments.
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can be due to a variety of reasons and the most common reason is the genetic predisposition, apart from secondary causes like hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or neurological disorders.
JP Skin offer a free consultation where a full medical history will be taken and discussed, you may then be advised to have a GP review to rule out any underlying health conditions.
Botox is used to improve hyperhidrosis.
The best treatment of secondary hyperhisdrosis is to treat the underlying cause.
Botox is used to treat the axilla (underarm), it is administered via a series of injections to prevent the sweat glands from excessive sweating. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, and it is a safe and well established procedure that has been used for many year both privately and in the NHS. However, this treatment is rarely offered on the NHS nowadays.
Alternative treatment options are available and include; topical treatments, oral medication, iontophoresis and surgery.
Clinical symptoms include; constant or frequent sweating, sweat soaks clothing leading to social embarrassment, microbial infections, symptoms generally commence in adolescence and men and women are equally affected. Hyperhidrosis commonly affects 3 in 100 people.
Botulinum Toxin A temporarily inhibits the release of a acetylcholine preventing the hyper stimulation of the accrine sweat glands.
This treatment costs £400.
